Doggie Style

Studio Portrait, 2015

It takes a while for animals to get used to being in the studio for a portrait session – a new environment for them with strange sounds and strange smells.  This particular dog was very nervous by nature, and despite the petting and treats wasn’t settling down.  To contain him, I brought over the leather chaise lounge and had him jump up.  As a further distraction, we placed a hat on his head.  It stayed in place for less than two seconds, but it was long enough to grab this classic shot, complete with attitude!  Sometimes you have to make things happen.
