Hotel del Coronado

This iconic structure on the California coast opened in January 1888 and is constructed entirely of wood.  Said to be haunted, the hotel was a popular get-away for the likes of Charlie Chaplin, Franklin Roosevelt, and Marilyn Monroe.  The location has also served as the backdrop for many movies, including 1958’s Some Like It Hot, and The Stunt Man in 1977/78.
